Drug Drug Description Bethanidine For the treatment of hypertension. Prazosin An alpha-blocker that causes a decrease in total peripheral resistance and is used to treat hypertension. Doxazosin An alpha-1 adrenergic receptor used to treat mild to moderate hypertension and urinary obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia. Debrisoquine For the treatment of moderate and severe hypertension, either alone or as an adjunct, and for the treatment of renal hypertension. Indoramin Indoramin is a discontinued piperidine antiadrenergic drug with the trade names Baratol and Doralese.
