Functions
ion channel activity / open rectifier potassium channel activity / potassium channel activity / potassium ion leak channel activity / S100 protein binding
Processes
brain development / cellular response to hypoxia / cellular response to zinc ion / cochlea development / ion transmembrane transport / mitophagy in response to mitochondrial depolarization / negative regulation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration / potassium ion transmembrane transport / potassium ion transport / response to drug / stabilization of membrane potential / synaptic transmission
Components
cytosol / integral component of plasma membrane / plasma membrane
General Function
S100 protein binding
Specific Function
pH-dependent, voltage-insensitive, background potassium channel protein. Rectification direction results from potassium ion concentration on either side of the membrane. Acts as an outward rectifier when external potassium concentration is low. When external potassium concentration is high, current is inward.
