"Catuaba" is a general term for a medicinal infusion created by the bark of plants belonging to the Erythroxylum genus, though this name is also applied to infusions of plants belonging to other genera.1 The infusion is thought to carry stimulant and aphrodisiac effects,1 and catuaba made specifically with Trichilia catigua has been investigated for use in depression.2
